Promoting Life Skills Through Interactive Games
WHO defines Life skills as "Abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life."
The initial week of the new session for Classes I and II focussed on fostering the acquisition of "Life Skills". The emphasis was on developing essential skills such as decision-making, problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
These skills were inculcated through many rounds of ''Dumb-Charades''. The children enjoyed tremendously enacting various parts of speeches. It boosted their morale and strengthen their social skills.
The learners were also able to flourish their fine motor skills and finger dexterity through another activity of ''Buttoning a shirt''. It aimed to impart fundamental life skills to students, which would enable them to navigate the complexities of life. The children demonstrated their remarkable ability to successfully accomplish both the activities.
The foremost objective behind these activities was to provide a holistic education and help our children lead smarter lives. The life skills are essentially those abilities that help promote mental well-being and competence in young people as they face the realities of life.
