Capacity building workshop
The role and responsibilities of a teacher have gone beyond the traditional ‘teaching within the confines of the classroom’. The teacher, today, is a mentor, a guide, a facilitator who inspires his / her students to think and reason beyond the textbooks. This requires teachers to keep themselves abreast of the techniques and methodology of imparting education. Keeping this in mind, Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex organised a Capacity building workshop for Economics teachers at KVM
36 teachers from various CBSE schools of Ludhiana participated in this workshop.
Mr A P Sharma, the Director and School Principal, was the Chief Guest of the occasion. In his address he emphasised on framing question bank based on the sample papers released by CBSE to ace the preparation of board exams
The Resource person for this workshop , Mrs Kirandeep Kaur Kharbanda, a dynamic and highly motivated Economics PGT placed emphasis on teaching methodology to make the teaching-learning process more interesting. The workshop aspired to cast light on critical and augmentative topics like multiple intelligences (verbal, logical, visual etc.)
The participants were divided into 6 teams and were given interesting names inspired by Economics .
During the course of the workshop, there were a few ice-breaking sessions that involved games / activities for the teachers which, apart from giving valuable lessons, also lent an air of buoyancy to the atmosphere.
The day ended with an open session wherein the teachers’ queries were answered and constructive feedback was taken from them. The workshop proved to be beneficial in widening the scope of knowledge of the versatile subject of Economics.
Mrs Harpreet Kaur, PGT Economics proposed a vote of thanks
