National Library Day
Libraries plays a vital role in the development of our society and country. S. R. Ranganathan, who is known as “Father of Library Science in India”, was the first person one who identified the real need of libraries and library science education in our country. Every year 12th of August, the birthday of Padma Shree Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library science in India, is celebrated as the ‘Librarian’s day with the aim to promote the use of libraries.
To mark the National Librarian’s Day, Middle Section Library of KVM organized a Book Cover Design Competition for students of Class 6th, 7th and 8th.. They choose their favourite book and made a book jacket of the book. The main objective of the competition was to instil a love of reading in students that lasts lifetime.
The Principal A.P. Sharma and Incharge Middle Section Mrs. Komal Arora applauded the efforts of all participants and also encouraged them to inculcate the reading habits in them.
