Group Discussion
Venue: Middle Section Library A prolific learning session in the form of Group Discussion was conducted by Readers' Club of the Middle Section for the members of VII & VIII. Members of Class VII read "Wings of Fire", and class VIII read "Forge Your Future" both written by Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam, under the 'Guided Reading Programme'. The learning experience from the books was shared by the members in the form of 'Group Discussion'. The members were divided into 4 groups and each group comprised 7 members. The event was graced by the In-charge Middle Section, Dr.( Mrs.)Manisha Gangwar. The audience was the non-participant members of Readers' Club of Class VII. The coordinator of the club briefed the participants about the purpose of Group Discussion and also the rules. The In-charge gave four situations to the four groups for deliberation. A thought-provoking, highly intellectual and relevant discussion was carried out in the groups which were closely monitored by the In-charge. All members carefully assessed others' opinions urdening their thought horizons. They discussed the situation given with reference to the principles and examples quoted in the book along with their classroom scenario. The discussion was carried out for 10 minutes and 5 minutes were given for summing up. The Observer from each group summarised the topic given by quoting the points reflected in the group. In charge, Middle Section appreciated the participants for their thoughtful deliberations and wholehearted participation. She also reminded members to read a newspaper and keep themselves apprised of current affairs. Thus 'Group Discussion' productively fulfilled its aim of helping the participants to have a deep understanding of the principles of the book and applying them to their day to day life situations. The situation discussed were: 1. Responding to negative force with more force will only create more problems. 2. Perseverance is the willingness to press o
