Remembering the Brave: Kargil War Tribute at KVM
To pay tribute to the martyrs who laid their lives in the Kargil War of 1999, Kundan Vidya Mandir Sr. Secondary School commemorated Kargil Divas today in the school auditorium.
Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Rajesh Issar, a veteran of this war was the chief guest of the function and was awarded a warm welcome by girl cadets of 3 Punjab Girls Battalion N.C.C., Ludhiana and boy cadets of 3 Punjab Battalion N.C.C., Ludhiana.
AVM Rajesh Isser, AVSM, VM who is also the Director of the school commanded a Helicopter Squadron which performed exemplary service and was a crucial component in the war efforts. He not only shared his real life experiences from the war but also emphasised the importance of team work and strategic management which finally lead to victory in such an inhospitable terrain. His address inspired the students to not only respect nation’s sovereignty and integrity but also the brave hearts who sacrificed their all in the service of the nation.
2 NCC girl cadets Rubal and Amodini were also felicitated by AVM Rajesh Isser.
Mrs. Sonia Victor ,officiating vice principal, thanked the Chief Guest for his highly motivational and awe inspiring address.
The students and the teachers reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the values of bravery and loyalty to the nation.
